In Germany, Schleswig-Holstein is building a Lorawan network to support smart city applications. The network, set to begin operations early next year, is being built by Addix in the Flensburg region and the Hansewerk Group in other areas. The initiative, part of a coalition agreement, includes installing 422 gateways for a wide range of uses like traffic lights, street lamps, flood protection, parking surveillance, and water sensors in parks.
