Context & Challenge

Today, Birdz, a subsidiary of Veolia, not only boasts the world's largest deployment of smart water meters (over 3.5 Millions) but has also developed a broad portfolio that encompass a diverse range of environmental IoT solutions across various verticals.

However, this evolution didn't fully translate to its brand image; Birdz appeared as a technology and sensor vendor, missing the opportunity to fully represent its true breadth to the world..

Deliverables & Outcomes

We highlighted Birdz's leadership in environmental IoT by transitioning from a tech-centric to an outcome-driven brand. This was achieved by highlighting Birdz's role in assisting cities and utilities to conserve resources and stimulate growth through enhanced operational efficiency and cost savings. Our approach included:

Brand Strategy

Brand Platform: Leveraging our insights and deep industry understanding, we developed a comprehensive brand platform for Birdz, embodying a distinct purpose, personality, and core values, all designed to establish Birdz as a leader in environmental IoT.

Key Messages: Drawing on our market knowledge and findings from a workshop with Birdz team, we tailored messages for the unique interests of key stakeholders such as cities, utilities, employees, and their subgroups.

Tone of Voice: We defined a distinctive and memorable brand voice that clearly communicates Birdz's newly defined personality.

Visual Identity

Color Refresh: We shifted Birdz's color palette from vibrant, tech-inspired hues to earthy tones, aligning with its new purpose and projecting a more established presence.

Logo: To ensure brand continuity while enhancing the connection with environmental focus and matured brand identity, we maintained Birdz’s logo original design but updated its colors.

Visual Elements: We produced graphics and visual motifs featuring organic shapes that encapsulate Birdz's commitment to environmental IoT solutions.

Visual Guidelines: We developed guidelines that are simple, clear, and readily actionable.

The core objective was to demonstrate how Axis Cameras are pivotal in enabling a myriad of partner solutions by illustrating the extensive collaboration and innovation within the smart cities domain.

Despite Axis's leading technologies and contributions, the challenge layed in effectively communicating the depth and breadth of its ecosystem and its role in advancing smart city solutions.

Deliverables & Outcomes

To effectively highlight the extensive partner ecosystem and their integral role in advancing smart city solutions, we initiated a campaign that consists of an engaging series of one-minute videos, showcasing casual yet insightful dialogues between an Axis representative and various partners. Schréder, a global leader in smart outdoor lighting solutions, aimed to enhance the profile and comprehension of their Central Management System (CMS), Schréder EXEDRA, among key stakeholders like municipalities and integrators. The goal was to clearly articulate the distinct advantages and functionalities of Schréder EXEDRA, positioning it as the go-to option for smart city initiatives.

Central to this project was showcasing the defining characteristics of Schréder EXEDRA: its simplicity, modularity, automation capabilities, resilience, and reliability. This campaign follows a successful initial video launched 3 years ago with the introduction of Schréder EXEDRA.

Deliverables & Outcomes

In collaboration with five product ambassadors, we created a series of five concise, one-minute videos. Each video showcases a successful Schréder project in a city, succinctly presenting the problem, the solution brought by Schreder Exedra and the tangible benefits for the city. Our deep understanding of the CMS market informed our involvement in scripting, ensuring clarity, focus, and impact.

As a groundbreaking initiative, it lacked an online presence to effectively communicate its vision and facilitate member engagement. Recognizing the importance of establishing a digital footprint, the objective was to launch the first-ever informative, user-friendly website for uCIFI.

This site would not only clearly present uCIFI's mission but also streamline resource sharing and workgroups collaboration. Additionally, the project aimed to empower uCIFI administrators with easy and seamless backend management capabilities.

Deliverables & Outcomes

Our team embarked on a multifaceted web development project, focusing on the creation of a comprehensive sitemap, content development, and a user-centric design utilizing WordPress integrated with Dropbox. This approach ensured that uCIFI's wealth of resources, previously housed in Dropbox, was directly accessible through the website, streamlining content management and member engagement.
