AI-driven waste and recycling solutions specialist AMP Robotics has secured $91 million in a Series D funding round led by Congruent Ventures. The investment also saw participation from notable investors including Sequoia Capital, Liberty Mutual Investments, and CalSTRS.

The funds will accelerate the deployment of AMP’s AMP ONE™ systems, which sort municipal solid waste. AMP recently launched a facility in Portsmouth, Virginia, and partnered with Waste Connections to upgrade a recycling plant in Colorado. These AI-powered systems aim to increase recycling rates, reduce costs, and divert more materials from landfills.

Founder Matanya Horowitz emphasized that the new investment will enable AMP to tackle larger projects, enhancing material recovery and extending landfill life. Congruent Ventures’ Abe Yokell highlighted the technology’s potential to significantly reduce landfill dependence and emissions.
