MOVISAT has been awarded the contract to supply and implement Smart IoT technology for optimizing waste management in Altea. This project involves the digitalization of waste collection and street cleaning services for the local municipality and the public company Desarrollo Municipal ALTEA.

The initiative aims to enhance service efficiency and advance sustainability efforts, aligning with Altea’s Smart Tourist Destination goals. MOVISAT will deploy its EcoSAT platform to plan and monitor waste collection and street cleaning vehicles. Additionally, the EcoDATA tool will evaluate service quality through key performance indicators, and the EcoCiudadano app will enable incident reporting and promote recycling among residents and visitors.

The technology will integrate with Altea’s Smart City platform, providing a comprehensive overview of the efficiency and effectiveness of waste management services. Over 300 volumetric sensors will be installed in waste containers, utilizing the municipality’s existing LoraWan network for real-time data transmission and remote device management.

This project is part of Altea’s Tourism Sustainability Plan. MOVISAT has previously executed similar projects in various municipalities across the Valencian Community, including Villarreal, Benissa, and Santa Pola.
