Anglian Water has partnered with SUEZ to enhance its wastewater network management through advanced satellite surveillance technology. The agreement covers the entire company area and follows a successful trial in 2023. This initiative aims to identify potential exfiltration points and expand to cover the entire network, with quarterly surveys planned for the next year.

The technology, developed in collaboration with ASTERRA, has previously proven successful in detecting leaks in Anglian Water’s drinking water system, saving 10 megaliters daily. This innovative, non-invasive method leverages the same principles used in Martian water discovery, offering precise and cost-effective solutions for aging sewer infrastructures.

Expected outcomes include improved pipe condition insights, optimized maintenance, better resource allocation, pollution prevention, public health risk reduction, and enhanced regulatory compliance.
