Neara, a Sydney-based start-up specializing in 3D AI-driven technology for optimizing grid networks, has raised $45 million in a Series C funding round. The investment, led by Swedish global infrastructure group EQT Partners Group, Skip Capital, Square Peg Capital, and Prosus Ventures, will fuel Neara’s expansion across Europe, the US, and the Asia-Pacific markets.
Founded in 2019 by Jack Curtis, Neara’s technology aims to accelerates critical asset analyses for utilities, enabling rapid identification and response to grid challenges to help them mitigate risks and improve infrastructure efficiency.
The firm’s client list includes NSW’s Essential Energy, Ausgrid, and Powercor in Australia, as well as Southern California Edison and Scotland’s Power Networks overseas. In October 2024 CenterPoint partnered with Neara to boost its grid resilience.
