DuPont Announces Spinoff of Water Tech Business

DuPont de Nemours Inc. plans to spin off its $1.5 billion water tech business as part of a broader strategy to restructure into three specialized companies by spring 2026. This reorganization is designed to maximize long-term shareholder value by creating more focused and agile entities, each able to pursue tailored growth strategies and potential mergers and acquisitions. The decision aims to enhance the operational efficiency and market competitiveness of each division. The water business, which may also entertain sale inquiries despite the spinoff plans, will compete with industry giants like Xylem Inc. and Veralto Corp. Additionally, DuPont will separate its electronics division specializing in semiconductors and related technologies, and establish a “New DuPont” concentrating on healthcare, advanced mobility, and safety markets.
