Transport UK London Bus (TULB) has fully electrified Route 63, introducing 29 electric double-decker buses to one of the city’s busiest routes. The Walworth depot, which supports the fleet, has been enhanced with 34 rapid 150kW chargers and advanced maintenance facilities specifically designed for electric vehicle needs. This development enables TULB to keep buses charged and ready for peak hours, ensuring sustainable and efficient operation.

The depot upgrades were made possible through a 14-year financing package, which covers consultancy, depot redesign, and ongoing maintenance, allowing TULB to manage costs effectively. This flexible funding arrangement supports London’s sustainable transit goals, reducing emissions and paving the way for a greener public transport system.
