ZeroEyes has been selected by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada for a large-scale deployment of weapons detection analytics, marking the first U.S. transit agency to fully implement this technology. The RTC, established in 1965, aims to enhance safety on its transit system, which serves over 50 million riders annually with more than 400 vehicles across 39 routes. The deployment, facilitated by United Safety, ZeroEyes’ exclusive transit reseller, involves a 1-year contract integrating gun detection software into RTC’s camera network.  Previously tested in Philadelphia’s public transit, the technology was phased out due to inadequate camera resolution, which hindered effective software support. However, overcoming this challenge, Baton Rouge committed to deploying the technology in May of this year, and now, Nevada’s RTC Transit System is also moving forward with its implementation.
