Indiana Energy Utility NIPSCO announced the rollout of upgraded electric meters with Advanced Metering Infrastructure technology to enhance safety, reliability, and modern energy capabilities. A total of 490,000 residential and business customers across NIPSCO’s service area are to be upgraded over three years. NIPSCO aims to align with the more or less 65% of US utilities already using AMI to enable remote meter reading, faster response to emergencies, energy efficiency, cost savings, and detailed billing information.
