Northumbrian Water will implement AI technologies to enhance river water quality through a new initiative called River Deep Mountain AI. Funded by over £5 million from the Water Breakthrough Challenge, the project aims to develop open-source, scalable digital models to analyze water pollution factors like agriculture and storm overflows. This effort, supported by partners including Cognizant and Xylem, will foster improved understanding and management of water bodies. The project will be officially launched at Northumbrian Water’s Innovation Festival in July.
