Trenton’s $20M Smart Meter Upgrade Project

Trenton Water Works in New Jersey is launching a $20 million project to replace over 63,000 water meters with smart meters in its five-municipality system. Starting in January 2024, these new meters will enable remote readings and significantly reduce estimated water bills.  The project, funded by the New Jersey Water Bank, is part of the utility’s larger $405-million capital plan to enhance water quality and customer service.
