WindTre Business has partnered with Nais in Rome, Italy, to enhance urban road surveillance and monitoring through the Malibu project, co-funded by the European Space Agency. This initiative uses machine learning and the Global Road Navigation System to detect road defects like potholes, to improve safety and driving comfort. Additionally, it includes the monitoring of air quality along routes used by Rome’s public transport, with sensors mounted on Rome’s public transport vehicles and enabled by WindTre’s 5G network. This collaboration aims to simplify municipal tasks and improve road conditions, supporting smart mobility and sustainable urban development in Rome.
