The Municipal Water and Sewage Company in Wrocław (MPWiK) is set to enhance its water management system through a new phase of its ongoing partnership with Emitel. This phase involves the installation of IoT radio modules on an additional 25,000 water meters, furthering the development of a  remote meter reading system.

This collaboration, initiated in 2021, encompassed over 70,000 water meters with the goal of establishing Poland’s first remote water meter reading system using the LoRaWAN network. The system, designed and implemented by Emitel, spans the entirety of Wrocław, facilitating wireless communication for efficient and accurate water meter readings.

The new contract with Emitel covers not only the supply and installation of the additional 25,000 water meters but also their integration into the existing remote reading system. This expansion is expected to bolster the current system, enhancing its capacity to provide real-time data and improve the overall efficiency of water infrastructure management in Wrocław.
