Kurrant Advises Heyliot on Strategic Sale to BH Technologies

Date: July 2025

Sector: Smart Waste / Smart Cities

Buyer: Hikari (BH Technologies)

Target: Heyliot

Kurrant's Role: M&A Sell-Side Advisor

Smart Waste Fill Level Monitoring Heyliot by BH

🔍 Overview

Kurrant advised Heyliot, a French Smart Waste startup based in Rennes, on its successful sale to BH Technologies, a leading provider of connected solutions for public lighting and waste collection.

Originally engaged to support a Series A fundraising, Kurrant and Heyliot explored strategic financing options to fuel the company’s next growth phase. However, discussions with Yotta Capital Partners and BH Technologies evolved into a highly strategic opportunity. The strong alignment of vision and industrial fit led to the acquisition of Heyliot’s Business Angel shareholders by BH Technologies, with Cyril Pradel, founder of Heyliot, joining the group as a partner and shareholder, and assuming the role of Deputy CEO in charge of environmental initiatives.

This transaction marks a key step in BH Technologies’ Buy & Build strategy and consolidates its position in the fast-growing Smart Waste sector across Europe.

🎯 Kurrant's Mission

Kurrant supported Heyliot as exclusive advisor throughout the transaction — from early-stage positioning for a fundraising round to a full sell-side M&A process.

Our role included:

  • Preparing the investment strategy and equity story
  • Identifying and approaching strategic and financial investors
  • Managing all process documentation and investor interactions
  • Coordinating due diligence and assisting in negotiations through to closing

Kurrant’s agility and ability to pivot the transaction structure enabled the company to seize a strategic opportunity that went well beyond capital raising.

🤝 Strategic Fit

This acquisition gives BH Technologies access to Heyliot’s cutting-edge IoT and SaaS platform, currently deployed across more than 45 municipalities and private clients such as Citeo, TotalEnergies, and Sogetrel. The integration brings 14 new experts to BH’s team, reinforcing its innovation and growth trajectory.

Cyril Pradel’s new leadership role within the group signals a long-term partnership aimed at accelerating smart, sustainable solutions in France and internationally.
