Digital twin startup EKORE has raised €1.3 million in seed funding, marking Italy’s largest investment in the digital twin and proptech sectors this year. EKORE’s innovative cloud-based platform acts as a “digital brain” for buildings by integrating real-time data and 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) models into a centralized system.
This integration allows for comprehensive real estate portfolio management, enabling property managers to make data-driven decisions that optimize energy usage and reduce costs. EKORE leverages AI-driven algorithms to analyze the collected data, which helps in identifying and addressing energy inefficiencies, detecting operational anomalies, and minimizing carbon emissions. By providing detailed insights and predictive analytics, EKORE aims to facilitate smarter building and city management, enhancing sustainability and operational effectiveness.
The platform continuously monitors building performance, using machine learning to predict maintenance needs and prevent potential issues before they arise. This proactive approach not only extends the lifespan of building assets but also ensures optimal performance and comfort for occupants. Additionally, EKORE’s technology aims to support city planners by offering scalable solutions for urban management that could contribute to the development of smarter, more sustainable cities.
The funding round attracted strategic investors SOM S.p.A., a specialist in the fuel retail sector, and Habismart, the PropTech accelerator of CDP Venture Capital’s National Network. Other backers include the CDP Venture Capital Accelerator Fund, Zest group, Nova Capital, and COIMA. Stefano Molino, Senior Partner at the Accelerator Fund, highlighted EKORE’s ability to enhance asset management through predictive analysis and effective anomaly management. Gabriele Ronchini, CEO of Zest Investments, emphasized the transformative potential of EKORE’s digital twin technology in the proptech market.
EKORE plans to allocate the raised capital towards enhancing its platform and algorithms, expanding its team, and accelerating commercial growth. This investment positions EKORE at the forefront of the digital twin revolution in Italy, driving innovation and sustainability in the real estate and urban management sectors.
