The Greater Paris Metropolitan Area has announced a new AI strategy to accelerate adoption across its 130 municipalities. The initiative, called ApproprIAtion Métropolitaine, aims to enhance public services through artificial intelligence.
The three-phase plan includes training for local officials, pilot projects, and large-scale implementation of successful AI solutions. Focus areas include administrative efficiency, urban logistics, food supply, noise reduction, and building renovations.
To support smaller municipalities, the metropolitan authority will fund 50% of pilot project costs and provide similar financial assistance for scaling proven AI solutions. The strategy seeks to establish Paris as a leader in urban AI innovation.
The move follows early AI experiments initiated in 2023 by the region’s digital department. With 12 million residents, the Greater Paris area aims to create a collaborative ecosystem for public and private AI development. To get more info about hoe to get involved visit this page.
