Iberdrola has acquired the UK-based tech company Derryherk, through its British subsidiary, ScottishPower, to enhance the efficiency of its smart grids in the UK. This follows a successful partnership between the two companies, which improved data connectivity across ScottishPower’s network.
Derryherk’s technology helps detect issues, forecast capacity constraints, and manage low-voltage networks more effectively.
The acquisition aims to support Iberdrola’s commitment to zero emissions and expansion of its UK operations, where it plans to invest £12 billion between 2024 and 2028.
