Itron is set to acquire Miami-based software firm Urbint for $325 million, financed from Itron’s existing cash reserves. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Urbint, backed by investors including Energize Capital, provides AI-driven operational resilience solutions tailored for critical infrastructure. The deal brings this capability into Itron’s portfolio, strengthening its software and analytics offerings.
Itron is a global provider of energy, water and smart infrastructure technologies, with operations spanning hardware, communications, and software systems. As of mid-2025, Itron’s trailing-12-month revenue was about USD 2.44 billion. This acquisition adds to its strategy of expanding solution depth via technology acquisitions
