The city of Meudon in France and Dassault Systèmes have teamed up to address the effects of climate change by improving the city’s thermal comfort through innovative simulation technology. The project utilizes Dassault Systèmes’ SIMULIA software to create digital twins of three public areas in Meudon, modeling the impact of urban heat islands (ICU). These simulations assess how infrastructure, weather patterns, buildings, trees, and roads affect air circulation and temperature. By integrating real-world data, the simulations should provide insights on how to reduce heat and improve living conditions for Meudon’s 47,000 residents.

The initiative is part of Meudon’s ongoing efforts to create more sustainable, environmentally friendly public spaces, replacing artificial surfaces with green areas that absorb rainwater and lower temperatures during heatwaves.
