Rota Upgrades Avenida de Sevilla Lighting with Smart Technology

Rota City Council has modernized the lighting system on Avenida de Sevilla, one of the city’s main tourist routes, with an investment exceeding 200,000 euros. The project aims to enhance visibility, safety, and energy efficiency while aligning with sustainability objectives.

The upgrade includes the installation of 109 new poles and luminaires designed to optimize light distribution. The system features remote management and monitoring technology, enabling better control and reduced energy consumption. The improvements extend beyond Avenida de Sevilla to adjacent streets such as Doctor Jiménez, Alcalá de Guadaira, and Virgen del Pilar, addressing previous lighting issues in the area.

The porject was funded through European resources under the Rota Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan and supported by Next Generation EU funds.
