Siemens eMobility has been appointed as the technology partner for two electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects in Italy. Collaborating with Autolinee Toscane and IPLANET (JV between IP and Macquarie), the initiatives aim to advance sustainable transportation by electrifying public transit and upgrading logistics facilities with state-of-the-art charging solutions.

For Autolinee Toscane, Siemens will install 73 high-power charging stations at bus depots in Florence, Prato, and Lucca to support the transition to a zero-emission bus fleet. The project includes the deployment of SICHARGE UC charging points with capacities of 100 and 150 kW, along with advanced electrical distribution systems enhanced with IoT capabilities for efficient energy management.

In partnership with IPLANET, Siemens will enhance over 120 logistics sites with numerous high-capacity chargers ranging from 300 to 400 kW. These charging stations will be integrated with Point of Sales (POS) systems in compliance with the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) and will feature remote monitoring to ensure reliability. Additionally, Siemens will provide electrical distribution systems and compact transformer substations, incorporating renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic systems and energy storage solutions
