Volteras, a data streaming platform for the energy and electric vehicle (EV) sector, has raised $11.1 million in a Series A funding round led by Union Square Ventures. Participants included fleet card providers Wex and Edenred, along with existing investors Exor and Long Journey Ventures.
The platform facilitates data exchange between EVs, chargers, and home energy systems, aiming to streamline EV ownership and energy management. Volteras has partnered with over 30 automakers, including Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen.
The funding will support global expansion, team growth, and collaborations with new partners like Octopus Electric Vehicles and Hitachi ZeroCarbon. The company aims to enhance fleet optimization, smart charging, and grid balancing while providing consumers with usage-based insurance and energy management tools.
Wex and Edenred, which service 24 million vehicles combined, view Volteras as a key enabler in the transition to electric mobility.
