British Columbia Launches Call for Wildfire Technology Innovations

The B.C. Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) is launching Canada’s first innovation call focused on wildfire technologies on May 30th, 2024. Up to $3 million in non-dilutive investment will be awarded to innovators in British Columbia developing solutions for wildfire management.

Key areas include:

• Prevention: Predictive modeling, proactive land management, and fire-resistant materials.
• Mitigation: Early detection, communication tech, sustainable fire retardants, and specialized equipment.
• Adaptation: Forest and community resiliency, post-fire recovery, and climate change adaptation strategies.
