Castel Guelfo Embarks on 1.7 Million Euro Public Lighting Upgrade

The Castel Guelfo municipality has announced a significant investment in enhancing public lighting, committing over 1.7 million euros to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. This ambitious project, funded through a 16-year agreement with Hera Luce and Cims, aims to modernize the town’s lighting infrastructure while significantly reducing energy consumption and emissions.

The initiative will see the replacement of 1,074 out of 1,090 lighting fixtures across the municipal area, incorporating the latest LED technology. These upgrades are expected to reduce energy consumption by 35%, marking a substantial step towards environmental sustainability. In addition to updating lighting fixtures, the project will include revising electrical panels and other essential technical equipment, ensuring the entire system is up-to-date and efficient.

The project plans to integrate a modern remote control center that will continuously monitor the system’s conditions. This setup will allow for real-time management and diagnostics, ensuring the system operates efficiently and any issues can be promptly addressed.

Additionally, the project includes the implementation of predictive maintenance cycles and the use of artificial intelligence tools. These advanced technologies will help anticipate and prevent potential faults, optimizing the performance of the lighting network. The connected nature of the system will also enable the municipality to make data-driven decisions to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

In addition to lighting improvements, the project will enhance security through the expansion of the municipal video surveillance system. Five new cameras will be installed, along with seven equipped with license plate reading sensors.
