Dryad Networks, a startup that specialises in ultra-early wildfire detection technology, has raised €6.3 million to enhance its solutions. This includes a €3.8 million European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant via Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB) and €2.5 million from First Imagine! which brings the total raised from its April convertible financing round to €8.9 million. The funding will scale its Silvanet platform, which uses solar-powered, AI-driven sensor networks to detect early signs of wildfires. The company is also developing “Florian,” an advanced drone-based system equipped with fire suppression technology, such as acoustic waves, designed to autonomously extinguish wildfires at their inception. These drones will be permanently stationed in high-risk forests for rapid response. With over 20,000 sensors deployed in 20 countries, Dryad’s tech addresses the increasing global threat of wildfires by combining early detection with swift suppression capabilities.
