Yunex Traffic has been awarded a contract, potentially extending up to 11 years, to provide Edinburgh with its advanced urban traffic control and management solutions, including the UTC-UX and Stratos systems. This project aims to enhance the city’s capability to manage traffic more effectively, meet environmental objectives, and deliver precise, real-time traffic information to users.

The solutions will be accessible via a web browser, allowing the city’s traffic management team to oversee and adjust traffic across a broad area through features like adaptive traffic control, public transport prioritization, and pollution monitoring. Additionally, the Stratos system will include modules for managing both routine and unexpected disruptions, improving traffic flow and air quality based on real-time data.

The project is financially supported by Scotland’s European Regional Development Fund and will also feature the installation of new air quality sensors across the city to monitor and manage environmental conditions more effectively.
