Electricity North West Upgrades 2.5M Smart Meters with Procode

Electricity North West has signed a five-year deal with Procode to upgrade 2.5 million smart meters in North West England using Procode’s Intelligent Data Adapter (IDA). Starting in November, the migration to the cloud-based system will enhance service quality and response times by offering real-time insights into the smart meter network.

The IDA can process thousands of messages per second, enabling quicker responses during power outages and prioritizing supply restoration. This marks Electricity North West’s first use of SaaS for smart infrastructure, advancing digital processes for better customer service and supporting the transition to low-carbon technologies like electric vehicles and solar panels.
