Sydney-based EV charging provider EVSE has broadened its network by acquiring ENGIE’s electric vehicle charging assets in Australia and New Zealand. The deal adds over 230 high-traffic locations, including major sites like Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne and Chatswood Chase in Sydney.
EVSE, backed by Pacific Equity Partners since 2023, already operates 4,200 charge points under its Exploren network. The new acquisition strengthens its presence with additional high-powered DC chargers, enabling faster charging times.
The Australian EV market saw record sales in 2024, with over 114,000 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles sold, marking a 16% annual increase. Growing infrastructure and competitive pricing continue to support adoption.
