Florida Renews Contract for Smart Work Zone Safety

After a successful pilot, the Florida Department of Transportation has renewed its contract with work zone data provider one.network for three years. Over 2,000 workers used the company’s Live Link solution to report 16,600 lane closures through the Lane Closure Notification System. The system enables workers to send real-time road closure updates directly to drivers via America’s major navigation providers, right from the work zone. This type of solution is set to enhance work zone safety and has attracted interest from other agencies, including the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority.
