Jordan is Digitizing its Power Grid with Jepco and Itron

The Jordan Electric Power Company (Jepco), which provides electricity to two-thirds of Jordan’s consumers, is collaborating with Itron on a digital transformation. The goal is to enhance the benefits of Jepco’s smart meter project to improve the region’s energy security. Jepco is integrating Itron’s data management platform to handle data from over 1.5 million smart meters. This initiative is part of Jepco’s strategy to meet Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision and address rising power demands. Itron’s system is expected to aid in real-time data collection, quality validation, and enhanced customer service, streamlining energy-saving efforts.
