Kitsap County launches tender for AI-driven traffic-signal upgrade in Silverdale

The Kitsap County Department of Public Works has opened bid submissions for a project to install the Code Green Signal Timing system across 21 signalized intersections in the Silverdale Urban Growth Area.

This initiative will equip each intersection with 360-degree traffic cameras and a GPU within the signal controller to feed an AI engine that generates and deploys timing plans in real time.

The estimated contract value for the project is between US$650,000 and US$800,000. The call for bids is scheduled to open on 18 November 2025.

At this stage no vendor has been selected. The county notes the project is grant-funded and funding may not cover the full cost. A timeline for full deployment has not yet been announced, but construction will not begin before the first quarter of the new year.
