Lantronix, a global provider of IoT compute and connectivity solutions, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire the enterprise IoT business of NetComm Wireless Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of DZS, Inc. The $6.5 million deal includes a cash payment and the assumption of certain liabilities. This strategic acquisition aims to bolster Lantronix’s position in the Enterprise and Smart City verticals while enhancing its 5G capabilities.
This acquisition should strengthen the company’s product offerings in gateways, routers, and modems, particularly in 4G and 5G technologies. These solutions, which support Ethernet-to-cellular and Wi-Fi® connectivity in rugged environments, cater to industries demanding low-latency, reliable IoT connectivity and remote management.
The move expands Lantronix’s Edge Compute solutions, enabling better service for critical applications such as infrastructure management, asset monitoring, and telecommunications. It also provides access to new markets in Australia and New Zealand, along with additional blue-chip enterprise customers, unlocking cross-selling opportunities across its portfolio.
Lantronix projects that NetComm’s enterprise IoT portfolio will generate between $6 million and $7 million in revenue for calendar year 2024. The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of Lantronix’s fiscal 2025, subject to customary closing conditions, and will be accretive to earnings upon completion. This transaction accelerates Lantronix’s focus on scaling industrial IoT solutions and addressing mission-critical connectivity needs.
