The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) has authorized the statewide deployment of NoTraffic‘s AI-powered mobility platform to alleviate congestion and enhance traffic management. This decision follows successful implementations at key Baltimore intersections, where the system effectively addressed gridlock during disruptions.

NoTraffic’s platform integrates advanced radar and camera sensors with AI algorithms to detect and classify all road users including vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. The system employs edge computing for real-time data processing, enabling dynamic traffic signal adjustments to optimize flow and improve safety. The platform also features Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) connectivity, facilitating communication between infrastructure and connected vehicles to enhance traffic control and safety measures. This approach ensures that both connected and non-connected road users benefit from improved traffic management.

In collaboration with Blackstar Diversified Enterprises, a certified traffic control and safety systems integrator, NoTraffic plans to expand its adaptable technology across Maryland. This initiative aims to optimize traffic flow, reduce carbon emissions, and prepare the state’s infrastructure for future mobility advancements.

NoTraffic’s system is already operational in over 30 U.S. states and parts of Canada.
