Ten municipalities in the Morbihan region will trial remote water meter reading by December 2026. Around 18,500 meters will be equipped with devices that transmit daily consumption data via a secure radio network.

The project, led by Golfe du Morbihan – Vannes Agglomération (GMVA), aims to improve water management by enabling remote readings, faster leak detection, and reduced CO2 emissions from manual checks. Residents will receive notifications before installations and access to an app for monitoring usage.

The initiative involves water management specialists, including SAUR for distribution, EAE for installation and maintenance, and Sensus (Xylem Group) for smart meter technology. The trial covers diverse areas such as Plougoumelen, Île d’Arz, and Baden.
