Stockholm-based Netmore Group has acquired Spanish smart meter specialist Arson Metering, deepening its capabilities in water and gas utility automation. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Arson Metering, headquartered in Bilbao, operates a Meter Operations Centre and offers platforms such as AquaCity (for water networks) and GasCity (for gas) across more than 200 municipalities in Spain, Italy, France, and Greece. The company currently manages over 500,000 installed meters and maintains a backlog of approximately 350,000 units.

Netmore, which runs a global LoRaWAN and hybrid LPWAN communications operation across 18 countries, sees the acquisition as bolstering its vertical utility domain alignment. The deal is expected to strengthen its ability to deliver full-stack solutions to utilities under tight service level agreements.

Arson Metering will continue functioning from its Bilbao base. Netmore aims to integrate its connectivity infrastructure with the acquired metering expertise to support large-scale deployments for utilities across Europe and beyond.
