Smartvatten, a leading provider of sustainable digital water management across Europe, has acquired LeakLook, a Finnish company specialising in submetering and IoT-based water monitoring for real estate.

The cost of the deal was not disclosed. LeakLook’s employees will join Smartvatten’s global team of about 150 staff, adding strength in research and development for IoT devices and AI-driven water analytics.

Combined, the two companies already monitor real-time water flows in more than 40,000 properties across over 30 countries. The acquisition fits into Smartvatten’s strategy to become Europe’s foremost water measurement and analytics platform.

LeakLook’s technology will now be scaled through Smartvatten’s sales, support and partner networks, targeting commercial and residential real estate, utilities, and insurers. Future development will focus on tools to detect leaks, inefficiencies, and irregular usage patterns using next-generation IoT monitoring and AI analytics.
