Southern California Expands Use of AI-Based Transit Enforcement with Hayden AI

Santa Monica and West Hollywood have adopted Hayden AI’s automated enforcement technology to address illegal parking in bus lanes and at stops.

The move expands the use of Hayden AI’s bus-mounted camera system, which detects and records violations in real time, already deployed by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and Culver City.

A 60-day warning period begins for Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus and Metro Line 212 in West Hollywood, with full enforcement starting September 1, 2025. A 2023 pilot in Santa Monica revealed frequent violations, underscoring the need for improved transit zone monitoring.

Hayden AI’s platform is also in use in cities like New York, Washington DC, and Oakland.
