Water Services Corporation, Malta’s primary utility overseeing drinking water and wastewater management, has extended its partnership with SUEZ for an additional five years. The renewed contract, lasting until 2029, continues the deployment and management of smart water meters across the Maltese Islands using SUEZ’s ON’connect™ platform integrated with WIZE technology.

With Malta facing increased population and tourism-related water demand, effective resource management is essential. Since 2009, over 310,000 smart meters have been installed, achieving more than 96% coverage. The smart metering system provides consumers with access to their water usage data and sends alerts for unusual consumption patterns, helping to reduce bills and conserve water. Additionally, the utility can enhance network performance, address leaks promptly, and lower non-revenue water through efficient data utilization.
