New Project (Full-Scale)UKSWEEEP KuusakoskiRecycleye RoboticsWaste
Published on January 31, 2024
UK Kent-based electrical recycler SWEEEP Kuusakoski has deployed in its Sittingbourne site and in partnership with waste management technology firm Recycleye an AI-powered optical sorter for electronic waste. The solution uses AI and machine learning for more efficient sorting, identifying hazardous items like circuit boards and batteries. This technology differs from traditional optical sorters by relying on visual features rather than color and light-based sensors. The AI system should improve the detection and ejection of lower-value materials, enhancing the purity of recycled waste streams.
