Vodafone has announced a three-year partnership to use IoT and AI technologies in protecting UK National Parks. The initiative aims to enhance conservation efforts, improve public engagement, and promote sustainability across all 15 parks.
Key projects include AI-powered habitat mapping to speed up biodiversity data collection and real-time monitoring of environmental factors like visitor impact and habitat health. Vodafone’s network-sensing technology, previously tested for flood forecasting, will support these efforts.
The partnership also focuses on increasing public access to nature, addressing barriers such as lack of time or companionship.
