Revolutionizing Waste: Stockholm’s Underground Collection
The City of Stockholm, in collaboration with Envac, a Sweden-based waste management company, is garnering significant attention for their innovative underground waste system. This state-of-the-art system employs advanced optical technology to efficiently sort various types of waste. It does this through the use of specially designed color-coded bags, each color representing a different waste stream. This revolutionary approach not only enhances waste management but also contributes to a more sustainable urban environment. To know more about this porject we speak with Patrick Haraldsson, the Regional President for Envac North Europe, and Mika Hakosalo, the Project Manager at the City of Stockholm.
This project is particularly relevant and informative for city planners, environmentalists, waste management professionals, and anyone interested in smart cities, utility digitalisation, urban sustainability and innovative environmental solutions.
