The City of Chesapeake, Virginia has partnered with Boldyn Networks to deploy a city-owned private wireless network as part of its Chesapeake Connects initiative.

The system, designed and managed by Boldyn, will provide secure connectivity for municipal departments, schools, libraries, and first responders. It features a CBRS overlay for fixed wireless broadband and a low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) to support Internet of Things (IoT) services such as traffic management, utility monitoring, emergency communications, and digital equity programs.

Backed in part by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, the project expands Chesapeake’s digital infrastructure while drawing on Boldyn’s global experience in mobile private networks, with over 130 deployments worldwide.
