Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched “Data Drive – Clear Guide,” a smart traffic management platform powered by Iteris’ ClearGuide software. Under a 42-month, multi-million-dollar Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) contract, the platform combines five years of historical traffic records with real-time data from leading international providers to monitor and analyze road conditions across the emirate.
Using artificial intelligence, it tracks travel speeds, congestion points, recurring patterns, and the impact of events or diversions, delivering instant alerts, automated reports, and detailed performance benchmarks.
Authorities can receive automated alerts on sudden disruptions, benchmark performance over different periods, and generate detailed before-and-after reports to evaluate road works or traffic management measures. The platform also supports live monitoring of diversions and major events, allowing quick interventions to minimize delays. An interactive map interface offers insights such as average speeds, density, and travel times for specific streets or areas.
The system replaces manual data gathering with instant, reliable analytics, enabling faster interventions and more effective planning.
This deployment is part of RTA’s broader smart city strategy to enhance mobility, reduce congestion, and support sustainable urban growth in Dubai.
