The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is loaning 80 million euros to Romania’s Delgaz Grid, which is part of the E.ON Group, which serves over 3 million households. The investment, part of a 600 million euro syndicated scheme, is set to modernize Delgaz Grid’s electricity network in north-eastern Romania, updating cabling, digitalized substations, and 272,000 smart meters. The upgrades should enhance energy efficiency and enable more renewable energy integration, with the goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 13,000 tonnes annually.
