Encycle Technologies, an expert in HVAC optimization, has announced a strategic collaboration with Itron. The partnership aims to enhance grid reliability and reduce energy consumption during peak demand periods by integrating advanced analytics and real-time data processing.
The collaboration will combine Encycle’s Swarm Logic® HVAC optimization software with Itron’s Distributed Energy Management System (DERMS), utilizing OpenADR technology to automate demand response and load management for commercial and industrial customers. This integration should enable businesses to proactively adjust their HVAC energy usage during peak hours, reducing grid stress and lowering operational costs.
By leveraging distributed energy resources (DERs) and demand-flexible devices, the partnership aims to help utilities optimize grid balancing and minimize the risk of stranded assets. The initiative should also supports the adoption of cost-effective, grid-connected smart energy solutions, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure.
This collaboration underscores the growing importance of intelligent energy management systems in addressing the challenges of the energy transition, including the integration of renewable energy sources and the need for grid stability.
