Lithuania has launched a €6 million subsidy programme to support the installation of 500 new electric vehicle (EV) charging points across 18 municipalities with sustainable mobility plans.

The initiative, part of the national “New Generation Lithuania” Recovery and Resilience Plan, offers reimbursements covering up to 40% of installation costs for small and medium enterprises, and 25–35% for larger firms, depending on location. Eligible areas include major cities such as Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipėda, along with smaller towns like Telšiai, Jonava, and Druskininkai.

Projects can be located near transport hubs and must comply with a 3km radius requirement. The funding is available until February 2026 or until exhausted, and recipients must maintain the infrastructure for at least five years. Lithuania currently hosts over 2,800 public charging points operated by around 40 providers, with a goal of reaching 6,000 by 2030.
