Amsterdam-based Next Sense has secured €11.5M in Series A funding to scale its smart building platform globally. The round was co-led by ABP and ETF Partners, with support from Edge, SHAPE Capital, and Timeless Investments.

Next Sense combines real-time monitoring, AI-driven controls, and advanced simulations to optimise energy use, claiming to achieve 20-30% savings across 150+ projects. The funding should be driving international expansion and reducing the built environment’s carbon footprint, which accounts for 40% of global CO2 emissions.

Formed from the merger of EDGE Next and Sense by PHYSEE, Next Sense partners with major clients like CHANEL and Microsoft to decarbonise real estate throughout its lifecycle, aligning with ESG standards and the Paris Agreement.
