Canadian communications and media company Rogers has collaborated with SpaceX and Pano AI to implement advanced wildfire detection technology in British Columbia. Utilizing Swarm, SpaceX’s Internet-of-Things connectivity service, Rogers will install satellite-connected sensors and Pano AI cameras capable of detecting smoke up to 20km away on wireless towers, allowing real-time monitoring of remote areas for early wildfire detection. This initiative aims to aid British Columbia Wildfire Service and the University of British Columbia in wildfire indicators monitoring.
