The city of Rome has signed a 25-year concession contract with Boldyn Networks for the #Roma5G project. The plan involves a 5G and Wi-Fi infrastructure integrated into the city’s aesthetics, covering all metro lines and stations, with over 2,200 small cell signal propagation points, 850 Wi-Fi hotspots, 1,800 IoT sensors, and 2,000 high-resolution 5G cameras. Details about the functions of the 1,800 IoT sensors have not been disclosed. This initiative, starting in the coming weeks, aims to enhance connectivity, public safety, and a range of digital services for Rome.
